Learn with experienced chefs.

Sustainable, healthy and everyday cooking techniques.

Building skills rather than following recipes.

Funding community food education and meals for people in food poverty.

What do we do?

We offer a range of hands-on cookery classes in Edinburgh from our kitchen in Craigmillar, with a focus on sustainable, healthy and affordable cooking. Our classes are open to all abilities and are designed to help people feel more confident cooking at home.

Each class combines practical cooking skills with the stories behind our food and ingredients. You’ll learn how to create delicious dishes to share with family and friends, while gaining a better understanding of where food comes from and how to cook it well on a budget.

Such a brilliant place for a team event! We made the most amazing food and had loads of fun doing it. Thank you so much!

Private Classes

Are you looking for a fun new team-building event? If so, why not book a corporate cooking class with Edinburgh Food Social. Aside from ensuring you have an enjoyable, educational time in the kitchen, booking one of our corporate classes also helps support the vital work Edinburgh Food Social does in the local community. We offer a range of classes and are happy to tailor the teaching if you have a particular theme or cuisine you’d like to learn about.

Our corporate classes typically run for a half-day. You can opt to work together or in rival teams if you would prefer a bit of friendly competition! Either way, every class involves participants learning new skills and making a delicious, wholesome meal that is shared by all at the end of the class.

If you live in Craigmillar or Niddrie…

Our cookery classes are free for residents on low or no incomes living in the Greater Craigmillar area
