Get Saucy Cookery Class

£75.00

Join Edinburgh Food Social for “Get Saucy”, a flavour-packed, hands-on cookery class all about building confidence in one of the most essential (and fun!) parts of cooking: the sauce. Over three delicious hours, our experienced chef team will take you on a saucy journey – from silky classics to bold, modern blends – all using seasonal, sustainable ingredients.

In this class, you’ll learn to:

  •  Whip up a velvety béchamel and transform it into a healthier, more flavoursome mac & cheese using roasted root veg (yes, really!).
  •  Create a rich and nourishing tomato sauce that’s so good, you’ll never reach for a jar again.
  •  Explore vibrant green sauces – perfect for adding a pop of freshness to your meals.
  •  Master the balance of sweet, salty, sour, and sharp with a range of homemade salad dressings, so good you’ll never buy a bottle again.

We’ll talk about layering flavours, balancing acidity, and using sauces to tie a dish together – or steal the show entirely.

As always, we focus on local ingredients, thoughtful cooking, and simple techniques that you can easily replicate at home.

This class is suitable for all skill levels, and perfect for anyone who wants to take their cooking from “fine” to “phwoar!” in one spoonful.

Please note that all young people under the age of 16 need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of this class.
